About the Community

Who Is Rainbow River For?

Rainbow River is social hub for queer, adult Runescape and OSRS players of all types. If you're queer and play Runescape, this is a space where you can share your love of the game without compromising on who you are.

You do not have to be a current Runescape or OSRS player to join this community. You can join if you've played in the past, or even if you've never played but think you might be interested. This community may provide you with the opportunity to check out part of the queer social landscape available to RS players.

How Did This Community Start?

This community was built in response to an irreparable fallout within the Queer clan. In short, unchecked power and differing opinions on leadership direction fragmented those in charge, leaving active members with a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the clan. Rainbow River was a solution where people could start fresh with many familiar faces and a leadership structure that could begin anew instead of seeking to repair what appeared to be permanently broken.

Is this a Clan?

We do have a clan in Oldschool Runescape! However, you are not required to join the clan to be a part of the Discord server, and you are not required to be in the server to join the clan. However, the rules listed here and in the server do apply to the in-game clan, so they should be read even if you have no intention of joining the server.

We Promote Queer Clans!

In addition to our own clan, we do promote queer clans at the recommendation of our members.

Promoted clans must be outspokenly LGBTQ+ friendly, or specifically catering to that demographic. In order for us to promote a clan, at least 3 members of that clan must be active members in our server community.

After getting permission from the clan leaders, a clan member can provide the necessary information in our #feedback channel. We will then follow up with other community members who share that clan. They can vouch for the information given, or provide their own comments on the clan's social environment and offerings.

Once a clan has been verified, we will craft a promotion "card" (a kind of artistic, promotional ID, if you will) and post it both in the #promoted-clans channel in our Discord server, as well as on our Promoted Clans webpage.

In order for clans to be considered for promotion, an active Rainbow River community member must provide the following info:

• Clan name
• Requirements to join
• Events offered by clan
• Discord invite link, webpage, forum post, or other way to find the clan
• A description of their experience and feelings about the clan's social environment (especially in relation to queer identity), leadership, events, or anything else they would like to share
